Fortnite is a game that many people across the world play. On March 8th, Epic Games released a new season of the game which revolves around Ancient Greek mythology. With this comes a new battle pass and map. But many people wonder if this new season’s battle pass is even worth it. The battle pass includes 8 skins along with many other things such as gliders, emotes, pickaxes, and trails. The skins each have their counterpart-immortal design, and each has special cosmetics. The map is more different than ever, and Today, we plan to review it so you can decide for yourself. The skins are ordered based on when they are unlocked.
Cerberus Shade Rippers
In Greek mythology Cerberus is the guardian of the underworld and Hade’s pet three-headed dog. These 2 items above are in Cerberus’s set. The skin looks great, especially with the dog as the head. You can also notice the other two heads on Cerberus’ jacket to make the three heads from the myths. The Shaderippers come with this set and match perfectly with the colors of the skin. Both the shade rippers and skin are animated. The skin looks like it has a strange dog mask, and it unfortunately does not look so much like Cerberus in mythology because of how small the other heads are. We rate the skin a 7/10. However we like the pickaxe very much because of how cool it is with the wolf faces on the sides, therefore we gave it a 9/10.
Aphrodite Heart Carver
Aphrodite is the Greek God of Love and Affection, she is also the daughter of Zeus. Aphrodite is the second skin unlocked along the battle pass. She comes with the Heart’s Carver, which is perfect for the theme of her being the Greek god of love and affection. The skin can look a little basic but looks great in the game. I would rate the skin 8/10 and the pickaxe is a 4/10 due to how basic it looks.
Poseidon Breakshore Trident
Poseidon is the Greek god of the ocean and horses, He is Zeus and Hades brother as well. The design of the skin is very unique as it looks quite goofy. Compared to all the other skins, Poseidon doesn’t look as good as them. However, the Breakshore Trident looks very cool and it fits well with the skin, it fits because of the blue tip and gold accents along with the white handle that matches his white plating. The Poseidon skin is 4/10. We chose this rating because he does not look like his mythological counterpart at all. The pickaxe goes well with the skin but not much else so we gave it a 6/10.
Medusa The Gorgon Blade
Medusa is a Gorgon, which in mythology, are the snake-like women that are sisters. Medusa is special among her sisters because she can turn people to stone by looking directly at them. Her dress fits well because it has snakeskin fabric. The snakes also move in-game which is a cool addition. She also appears to have an emerald-colored snake eye just below her neck. She has dual pickaxes that have small emeralds that match the snake eye on her neck. The pickaxes have a good color scheme and have little snakes trailing down the middle, however, the colors do not match Medusa at all, we feel that Medusa wouldn’t be a vibrant purple. We have rated the skin an 8/10 and the pickaxes were rated a 5/10 because it does not match well.
Zeus Bolt Blades
Zeus is the king of the Olympians. He is Hades and Poseidons brother. Fortnite gave him a gold plated armor and a gold crown. However, they also put on his design, shotgun shells, and grenades which is an odd choice for the king of gods. Despite that, his pickaxe is very cool because it creates little blades of lightning that attach to your wrists, something that we have not seen before in the game. We chose to rate the skin a 7/10 because we did not like the accessories they put on him like the grenades and shotgun shells. We chose to give the pickaxe 9/10 because it works very well and just looks cool in general.
Artemis Arrowpoint Carver
Artemis is the goddess of the hunt and the moon. She is the daughter of Zeus and leads the Hunters of Artemis. Therefore the galaxy-like texture of her clothing and hair fits very well. Her pickaxe, which is meant to look like a crossbow, also has a galaxy texture. The crossbow matches her very well because it is something you would use while hunting so it adds to the overall aesthetic. We gave the skin an 8/10 because we think her galaxy clothing is very cool and is not something Fortnite does often. We gave her pickaxe a 5/10 because it’s nothing special and does not match her.
Hades Hadean Key
Hades, who is the king of the underworld and the brother of Zeus and Posideon. Hades is the last skin in the battle pass. He holds the Hadean Key to the Underworld. Traditionally, Hades is depicted as a regular-looking old man. The media, however, makes him more villainous. We like how Hades looks here, and the gas mask he wears adds a nice touch. We think that Hades looks great, almost perfect. We think this skin is a 10/10 and is worth being last in the battle pass. We gave the pickaxe a 9/10 because it looks very cool and matches Hades very well. It also is the most unique.
Korra
Korra is this season’s secret, and a collaboration with The Legend Of Korra animated series so all her cosmetics have not been revealed yet and will only be in 14 days (as of writing this). However, we can be almost certain that it will be good. We gave Korra a 6/10 because we believe cartoon skins like this do not belong in Fortnite.
After this, buyers of the battle pass still get many more items such as sprays, wraps, emotes, and even guitars in the latest updates. In addition, you can earn up to 1500 v bucks while only spending 950. 950 v bucks is around $10. In our opinion the battle pass is a worthwhile investment.
